How We Choose Products

Every guide on Lihan Home Finds follows the same five-step process, so you know exactly how a product ends up on a list, and how much weight to give each recommendation.

1. We start with a real problem, not a product

Each guide answers a specific kitchen problem: a deep pantry shelf where things get lost, a cabinet under the sink full of pipes, a drawer where utensils pile up. Starting from the problem keeps the list focused on what will actually help, instead of whatever is trending.

2. We build a long list, then cut it down

We gather candidates from bestseller lists, specialist retailers and well-known storage brands, then remove products with unclear dimensions, poor materials, or repeated complaints about breaking or not fitting.

3. We compare every shortlisted product on the same criteria

CriterionWhat we check
FitListed dimensions, adjustable or expandable ranges, and the space it needs to open or slide
MaterialsGlass, BPA-free plastic, bamboo, steel; food safety where relevant
Ease of useAssembly, how easy it is to reach items, one-handed use
CleaningDishwasher-safe parts, wipe-clean surfaces, hidden corners
DurabilityPatterns in verified owner reviews after weeks or months of use
ValueWhat you get for the price compared with similar products

4. We write down the drawbacks

No product is perfect. Every pick lists its weak spots and a “Skip it if” line naming who should choose something else. If we cannot find a meaningful drawback, we keep looking until we do.

5. We say how we know

Our guides are based on careful research, using the criteria above. When a product has been used hands-on, the guide says so and shows original photos. We never claim testing we have not done, and we do not copy prices or star ratings into guides because they change daily.

How we keep guides current

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review our main guides regularly, replace products that are discontinued or have slipped in quality, and update advice when better options appear.

Our editorial independence

Brands cannot pay to be included in a guide or to change what we say about their products. We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links, at no extra cost to you, but commissions never decide what makes a list. See our affiliate disclosure.
